One long table. Too much food. The same three arguments we have every year.

What To Bring
The turkey is handled. Everything else is a coordination problem, and we solve it the way we always have: in the group chat, loudly, at the last minute.
- A dish that feeds eight. Claim it in the chat before you cook it.
- Your own serving spoon. We run out every single year.
- A drink you actually want to drink. There will be one warm two-liter of something and it will be nobody's favorite.
- A folding chair, if you have one. Seating is theoretical.
- Tupperware. Leftovers are the entire point.
Oven math: one oven, one temperature, four hours. If your dish
needs to bake, say so early. If it can be served room temperature, you are
this year's hero.
House Rules
- Shoes off past the entry rug.
- The good knives are not for the good knives' sake. Ask first.
- If you open a window, you own that window for the rest of the night.
- Nobody discusses the incident with the 2019 sweet potatoes.
- Whoever proposes a toast is legally required to finish it.
- The last person awake starts the dishwasher. This is binding.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I bring someone?
Yes. Tell us a name and a headcount so we can do the chair arithmetic.
Can I bring my dog?
Ask first. There is a resident cat with strong opinions and no chill.
I can't cook. What do I do?
Bring ice, rolls, drinks, or paper goods. Every year somebody forgets ice and every year it is a small tragedy. Be the ice person. The ice person is beloved.
Is there a vegetarian option?
Yes, and more of one every year. Label your dish if it is vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free. Index cards will be on the counter.
What time does this actually end?
Officially there is no end time. Historically, the last car leaves around the time somebody suggests a board game and is immediately overruled.
Why does this website look like that?
Because it should. Use the era picker at the top of the page if you want something calmer. Your choice is remembered on this device.
The Tradition
It started as a scheduling accident: too many people who couldn't get home for the real thing, and one apartment with a working oven. It has happened every year since, and it has never once run out of food, though it has come close twice.
Same deal this year. Show up, bring something, stay too long.
